Asteroids Reveal Our Solar System's Chaotic Infancy - Nextgov

The early solar system was more chaotic than previously thought, according to a new, more precise reconstruction of the early history of several asteroids.

Before the Earth and other planets formed, the young sun was still surrounded by cosmic gas and dust. Over the millennia, rock fragments of various sizes formed from the dust. Many of these became building blocks for the later planets.

The Smartflower Ground-Based Solar System - Core77

My wife and I recently drove past the house of a neighbor who had solar panels installed during the pandemic. Because the house is in a shaded location, the panels were installed in a low-to-the-ground array in the yard. It's really unattractive.

I applaud their decision to go solar, and would never volunteer my opinion of what it looks like, but I wondered if there isn't a more attractive solution to ground-mounted solar panels.

Watch: Bear Republic explains how its solar system works

Bear Republic is in the upper echelon of craft breweries with sustainability commitments. To just run through a few things real quick: Flow meters and a plant-wide data collection make more efficient use of water (3.5 to 3.75 gallons of water to brew one gallon of beer).

And to top it all off, somewhat literally, the brewery has a 135-kW solar PV system sitting on the roof of its Factory 5 Brewery and another 38-kW system at its Lakeside Brewpub.

Mars and Jupiter | StarDate Online

Two planetary neighbors will get especially neighborly over the next few mornings. They'll huddle as close as half a degree from each other — less than the width of a pencil held at arm's length.

The planets are low in the eastern sky at dawn. The brighter one is Jupiter, the giant of the solar system. Only the Moon and Venus shine brighter. The other world is Mars. It's close to the lower right of Jupiter tomorrow, and even closer on Sunday.

Babies Born This Decade Could Visit Jupiter's Moons And The Asteroid Belt Say Scientists

No fewer than nine robotic missions have visited the Jovian system—home to the solar system's largest planet, Jupiter—and in less than 80 years humans could make the 499 million miles/803 million kilometers journey.

It could be preceded by crewed missions to the Asteroid Belt, which is between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter as early as 50 years from now. However, trips to Saturn's moons may have to wait a little longer.

Georgia PSC 'getting lit up' with complaints about home solar ripoffs

Elsa Perez (L) said the solar salesman told her the government would pay the entire cost of her $54,200 system. Instead, she was stuck paying $240 each month until she's 105.

LILBURN, Ga. - A growing number of Georgians complain they were tricked into buying expensive rooftop solar power systems, the kind you see advertised heavily on social media.

IKEA will now sell solar panels

Solar hesitancy: The benefits of solar go beyond protecting the environment — solar panels are cheaper than ever, and between the lower energy bills and government subsidies, a home solar system could pay for itself before the panels need to be replaced.

"The launch of Home Solar with IKEA will allow more people to take greater control of their energy needs."
