Why alien hunters have spent 60 years finding new solutions for the Drake Equation

SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA "Dad, did you ever imagine that your formula would become so famous?" I ask the kind-eyed, 91-year-old person next to me on the patio.

My dad, Frank Drake, is quiet for a moment. Perhaps he's thinking back to the November day 60 years ago when he unceremoniously drafted a formula that went on to shape humankind's hunt for extraterrestrial civilizations.

Mysterious origin of Earth's water may be explained by solar wind | New Scientist

The sun's solar wind may have played a key part in delivering water to Earth, solving a vexing mystery about where our planet's seas and oceans came from.

Studies of meteorites have found them to be surprisingly rich in water, suggesting that early in our planet's history 4.6 billion years ago, incoming asteroids delivered water and allowed Earth to become the habitable world we see today.

Jonas Valanciunas body swaps with Steph Curry, goes 7-7 from downtown while scoring 29 in

Jonas Valančiūnas is a big man, both literally and in basketball parlance. The Pelicans center just cracks the seven-foot barrier and tips the scales at 265 pounds. He's not a shooter. He's not a dribbler.

On Monday night, however, in some sort of Freaky Friday body swap arrived four days early, Valančiūnas became Steph Curry, going 7-7 from beyond the arc for 29 points in what has to be the most incredible, unlikely explosion of jump shooting from a big man in NBA history.

'Love Has Won': Spiritual Sect From 'Mother God' to Mummified Corpse - Rolling Stone

On April 28, 2021, Miguel Lamboy walked into the Salida Police Department and told authorities that they would find an enshrined, mummified corpse, formerly Amy Carlson, at his house in Crestone, Colorado .

When Saguache County police officers arrived at Lamboy’s house in Crestone, they found Carlson immediately. They could see the twinkling, multi-colored makeshift shrine from down the hallway. The scent of sage hung in the air, according to an officer on the scene.
