SpaceX To Launch Starship Megarocket For 11th Time On Monday

On a Monday evening, October 13th, SpaceX is set to launch its Starship megarocket for the 11th time, as part of a continuous testing phase. The launch window opens at 7:15 p. m. EDT and will take place at the Starbase site in South Texas. This event can be watched --- on Space. com, courtesy of SpaceX. The Starship, comprising a first-stage Super Heavy booster and an upper-stage Starship spacecraft, is a marvel of engineering, designed for full reusability.

According to SpaceX, this unique combination of power and reusability is a crucial step towards humanity settling on Mars, a long-term goal of Elon Musk, the company's founder and CEO. The upcoming launch, Flight 11, is expected to mirror the events of Flight 10, which occurred on August 26th. During that launch, Super Heavy successfully splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico, while the Starship spacecraft landed in the Indian Ocean. The spacecraft demonstrated its ability to relight one of its Raptor engines in space and deploy payloads, specifically dummy versions of SpaceX's Starlink broadband satellites.
