NASA’s Curiosity rover has captured amazing images of clouds on Mars - The Verge

NASA's Curiosity rover has captured images of clouds on Mars— as described in its blog post : "wispy puffs filled with ice crystals that scattered light from the setting sun, some of them shimmering with color."

According to NASA clouds are rare in the thin atmosphere of Mars, but usually form at its equator during its coldest time of year. Scientists noticed that last year — two years ago in Earth time— there were clouds beginning to form earlier than expected, so this year they were ready.

Goss: Human created points of light overshadow amazing Mars | Virginia | roanoke.com

Ever since last fall, Mars has played a role in our evening sky. In October while lying at 38 million miles, it was the closest to Earth as it will be until August 2035 and appeared as a dramatic bright orange–red light. It was hard to miss. As the weeks passed and as Earth moved farther from the Red Planet, it grew fainter, eventually becoming "just another" unremarkable point of light.

From tonight until just after the Fourth of July, Mars fades even further as it drops closer towards the horizon in the bright evening twilight – and towards the set sun. It is now about as bright as any one of the major stars of the Big Dipper and it moves near the two bright stars of Gemini, Castor and Pollux. On June 7, Mars forms a straight line with them being the dimmest of the three.

'Mars Horizon' review: Design rockets, run missions and compete for glory in this addictive space

In the space simulator game from Auroch Digital , you manage a space agency of your choice. You start in the year 1957, with five space agencies competing for glory and "milestone" missions, such as the first satellite, the first human in space and the first moon flyby. I chose NASA.

As you unlock milestones and complete missions, you find yourself waging a PR battle with the other space agencies and also with your own funders. If you do well, the other agencies will give you a few Easter eggs (I got free Venus flyby development tech), and your funders will shower you with money. Do poorly, and you'll get less money and a lot of nasty newspaper headlines.

NASA's Mars Ingenuity Helicopter Spirals Erratically On Sixth Flight (But Still Takes A

NASA's Ingenuity Mars helicopter flipped like a coin in the air after venturing out on its sixth flight above the Red Planet. The unexpectedly turbulent flight happened on May 22, but NASA just released information about the "in-flight anomaly" on May 27.

The helicopter was on a mission to "demonstrate aerial-imaging capabilities," according to an article published on NASA's website by Håvard Grip, Ingenuity Mars Helicopter Chief Pilot at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
